LabelSnap 4×6 Pro processes every shipping label file entirely within your web browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your files are never uploaded to any server, never stored in any cloud database, and never transmitted over the internet. This means your buyers' names, addresses, and tracking numbers remain exclusively on your own computer—fully compliant with GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA (California), and all major privacy regulations. Unlike server-based label converters, there is zero risk of a data breach exposing your customers' personal information.
When you take a screenshot of a shipping label or resize a barcode image, your operating system applies anti-aliasing—smoothing sharp edges by adding gray pixels along bar boundaries. On an inkjet or laser printer, these gray pixels are approximated with dithering and look acceptable. But 203 DPI (and even 300 DPI) direct thermal print heads work by burning dots: a dot is either fully heated (black) or not heated (white). There is no "gray" setting.
Gray pixels cause thermal heads to produce inconsistent dots—some partially burn, others skip entirely. The result is fuzzy bar edges that cause carrier barcode scanners to fail or require multiple passes. LabelSnap's Thermal Barcode Crispness Boost applies a luminance threshold filter that converts every pixel to pure black (luminance < 185) or pure white (luminance ≥ 185). This eliminates all gray fuzz, producing razor-sharp 1-bit bar edges that scan on the first pass every time.
macOS: Open System Settings → Printers & Scanners → select your thermal printer (Rollo, Munbyn, Zebra, etc.) → click Options & Supplies or Open Print Queue. When printing from LabelSnap, in the Print dialog set Paper Size to 4×6 in or 100×150 mm, set Margins to None (or Borderless), and set Scale to 100% or Actual Size. Do not select "Fit to Page" or "Scale to Fit"—this will shrink your label.
Windows: Go to Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners → select your thermal printer → Printing Preferences. Set Paper Size to 4 x 6 in (or add a custom paper size of 4" × 6" / 101.6mm × 152.4mm). Set Margins to None and Scale to 100%. In Chrome or Edge's print dialog, select your thermal printer, set Paper Size to 4×6, and uncheck "Headers and footers".
When you drop a multi-page PDF into LabelSnap, the app uses Mozilla's pdf.js library to render each page at 300 DPI equivalent resolution onto an offscreen HTML5 Canvas. Each page appears as a clickable tab in the Batch Queue strip. You can select a carrier preset (e.g., "USPS / Poshmark Top Half") and toggle "Sync Preset Across All Batch Pages" to apply identical crop coordinates and rotation to every page in the batch simultaneously.
When you click "One-Click Print All 4×6" Labels", LabelSnap processes every page in the queue—cropping, rotating, and optionally applying barcode sharpening—then populates a hidden print container with all the formatted 4×6" label images. The browser's print dialog opens with all labels ready to feed through your thermal printer sequentially. Alternatively, "Download Multi-Page 4×6" PDF" generates a single PDF file with each label on its own 4×6" page, perfect for batch printing later or sending to a print shop.
UPS and many eBay-generated shipping labels are formatted sideways (landscape orientation) on the left half of an 8.5×11" US Letter sheet. Traditionally, sellers needed Adobe Reader or Acrobat to manually rotate and crop these labels—a tedious, multi-step process especially when processing dozens of orders.
With LabelSnap 4×6 Pro, simply select the "UPS / eBay / PirateShip (Sideways Left Half)" preset from the dropdown. The app automatically crops the left 58% of the sheet (capturing just the label) and rotates it 90° clockwise to produce a correctly oriented 4×6" portrait label. The entire process takes less than one second per label, and you can batch-process an entire multi-page PDF of sideways labels with a single click. No Adobe software needed, no subscription fees, and it works on any device with a modern web browser.
